In this course students will be introduced to the theatre world and what it consists of as a whole. Theatre is a highly collaborative and integrated art form that requires effort by an ensemble. This ensemble includes directors; producers; designers; stage crews; actors; stage manager; publicity support; sound; set design and so many other students will learn how each member of the ensemble works; how they collaborate together and why their job is important to the success of a production. Students will also have the opportunity to learn how many of these ensemble members work to put on a performance by hands on activities and construction. Completion of this course students will have gained knowledge in all aspects of the theatre world and be prepared to continue on to an advanced level in either Theatre tech and Design or Intermediate/Advanced Drama.
