Course description

For students with an interest in fashion and home interiors and an artistic eye for color and design this semester course will focus on textiles; fibers; and fabrics and their importance in fashion and home interiors. Students will explore the history of fibers and fabrics; learn the characteristics of natural and manufactured fibers; how fibers are turned into yarn and yarn to fabrics; and fabric finishes. This class will feature lab experiences on fabric construction; methods of color application and fabric finishes. Whether you are taking this class for personal enrichment or desire a career in fashion and interior design you will enjoy the diverse topics offered. Students will have the opportunity to participate in FCCLA.
The course fee is used to purchase yarn; various weaving and knitting supplies; fabric and yarn samples; etc.
