Course description

Algebra Applications will focus on an understanding of the essential concepts and skills in algebra. Students will study functions and relations; with an emphasis placed on conceptual understanding; graphical representation; solving; and modeling. This course will include solving problems in a series of realistic situations from which the crucial need for math arises; such as linear; exponential; and quadratic functions. The course will assist students in gaining mathematical literacy in the real world; while simultaneously building a solid foundation for future study in math and other disciplines. This course builds upon the concepts and skills learned in previous math courses. Algebra Applications is designed to prepare students for college level math.
