Course description

This course covers advanced concepts and processes of graphic design. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between the designer and creative and critical thinking skills; the sophisticated relationship between aesthetics and functionality; and the role of design in professional; cultural; and historical contexts. Students will work independently with various design software to complete a variety of design projects. Students will add to their portfolios and focus on the presentation; organization; packaging; and overall professionalism of the portfolio. Students will showcase their favorite pieces at the semi-annual Art Shows. Students may repeat this course multiple years for credit.
