Course description

This class is designed as a capstone performing arts course. Throughout the year students will work in collaboration with the instructor to develop an individual plan that reflects personal interests and passions. In this capstone students will select two emphasis areas from the following theatrical areas: Acting; Directing; Playwriting; Costume and Make-Up Design; Scenic and Property Design; and Dramaturgy; and work to a level of mastery and distinction within those areas. Students in Drama 5-6 Honors will develop an audition portfolio typical of a theatrical practitioner; select the emphasis areas they will focus in; create long and short term goals including plans to meet those goals; and begin work toward the emphasis projects of their choosing. To be successful in Drama 5-6 Honors; students must be self-motivated and show a commitment to collaboration with others and their personal growth and development. Students should be prepared to challenge themselves and invest in their passion for theatre.
