Course description

Students will review of ASL 5; 6. Includes use of sign space; conceptual accuracy; directionality; mimetic description; dialects; number series; American Sign Language (ASL) expansions; English words with no direct ASL translation; English passive voice to ASL active voice; and the field of interpreting. Students will have in-the-field experience by shadowing profession interpreters; speech therapists; and sign language teachers; as well as; work with (sign language workshops; tutoring; and mentoring) deaf; hard of hearing; and hearing preschool and elementary school students.
