Course description

This course explores a detailed studies approach to works written in English in which students examine a variety of genres and themes. Skills focus upon close reading techniques; language effects; written literary analysis and oral commentary. Literary pieces include British
classics as well as works written by modern ethnic Americans. Instruction and assignments prepare students for two compulsory IB exams: individual oral commentary and individual oral presentation.
This course is part of the IB Diploma Programme. NOTE: This is a weighted course.
