This course explores the diversity of music throughout the world through a survey of Western Music from the Middle Ages to the present. Studies of other musical genres include some non-Western
musical traditions to prepare students to take the Standard Level (SLS; SLG) International Baccalaureate Music Exam. Candidates have two compulsory parts for Standard Level IB: SLS; Solo
Performance option or SLG; Group Performance option and Musical Perception and Analysis (containing a study of an IB Prescribed Work; study of Musical Genres and Styles and a Musical Investigation).
This is part of the IB Diploma Programme. NOTE: This is a weighted course.
