Course description

This course is a prerequisite to the IB Diploma Programme courses. The course is designed to teach not only the historical record of the United States; but also a dynamic range in interpretations of
American History. Students will receive instruction that goes beyond the facts to the meaning; impact; and influence of historical developments. Historiography will be an essential element of the course; as well as critical analysis of the past in order to draw inferences for
the future. This course will cover the nation's evolution from the colonial period to modern times. The key concept to remember in this course is that history is very much alive and constantly evolving. NOTE: This course meets the high school graduation requirement for American History. NOTE: This is a weighted course.
