Course Description: This two semester program will provide foundational modules in care delivery systems; legal/safety requirements; introduction to basic mental and social illnesses; disorders and conditions as well as strategies to improve mental & social health and resources to problem solve & promote wellbeing.

Supplies: Student will need the following items for class and is expected to
1. 1 binder (1 ½” or 2”)
2. Highlighter
3. Loose leaf notebook paper
4. Composition notebook

Grading: Grading is on a point system. Tests; quizzes; essays; projects; assignments and class participation are assigned a point value. The greater number of points given to an assignment means the greater overall percentage or weight of that assignment. You are expected to keep up with your own grades in order to give you a fairly accurate idea of your current standing and eliminate “surprise” grades on progress reports and/or report cards; I will update grades regularly so please check that often.
100-90 = A
89-80 = B
79-70 = C
69-60 = D
59 and under = F

Assignments (Policy)
• Make-up: Students missing class are responsible for getting any assignments missed.
• Homework: Homework will very rarely be assigned; however; any work not completed in class will become homework.
• Late Work: Late work will be accepted with a 50% deduction from the final grade earned. (In other words the best you can get on a late assignment is 50%). After the test has been given for a unit; work that is late for that unit will not be accepted (in other words students have until the day of the unit test to turn in any late work for that unit).
• Note: Cheating will not be tolerated in this class. If a student is caught cheating (that includes copying information from the Internet or other resource without citing work; giving or receiving work from another student that is not designated as a group project) they will receive a 0% on that assignment or test; and will not be allowed to make-up the assignment/test. See the Student Handbook for further information about academic misconduct/cheating.

Lap Top/Chromebook Use Policy: Technology; while an excellent tool to facilitate and enhance student learning; can be abused and misused in the classroom. Therefore; there will be strict guidelines that all students must know and follow.

• Devices can only be used and out on the student's desk when the teacher has explicitly announced their allowable use.
• Cell Phones and other personal devices: Should be put on silent and placed in your bag at the beginning of class.
