Course description

The Capstone: Biochemistry course is intended to introduce the student to common techniques in biochemical and biomedical research. Topics and lab techniques to be covered may include; but not be limited to an introduction to organic chemistry; spectrophotometric methods; enzyme and protein analysis; molecular biology (including DNA extraction and analysis; subcloning techniques and PCR); microbiology; and protein purification. The student will also be expected to complete a number of projects including presentations of research topics.
