Course description

This course uses a thematic approach to introduce students to representative text (short stories; novels; poetry; and essays) from Peninsular Spanish; Latin American; and United States Hispanic Literature. This course incorporates art; research skills; and media such as music; documentary films; radio; and television. This course is aligned with the National Standards of Communication; Cultures; Connections; Comparisons; and Communities. This course exams literature through global; historical; and contemporary cultural contexts. Students will develop interpretive listening skills and the ability to compare what they hear to literary text. This course is conducted entirely in Spanish.
