APPLIED BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS I (full year)
Introduction to Agriculture courses survey a wide array of topics within the agricultural industry; exposing students to the many and varied types of agriculture and livestock career opportunities and to those in related fields (such as natural resources). These courses serve to introduce students to the agricultural field; providing them an opportunity to identify an area for continued study or to determine that their interest lies elsewhere. They often focus on developing communication skills; business principles; and leadership skills. Students are required to conduct a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) program and maintain an accurate FFA Financial Management (record keeping) system. *Students who complete the Applied Biological Science 1-2 will receive an elective credit and must complete Applied Biological Science 3-4 to receive a 1 year of Lab Science Credit (Biology).
If a student signs up for ABS I; they will automatically be enrolled in ABS II the following year.

APPLIED BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS II (full year)
Agriculture and Natural Resources—Comprehensive courses cover a wide range of topics concerning agriculture and natural resources; including plant and animal science; production; and processing; environmental science and conservation; ecology; agricultural mechanics; agricultural construction; business operations and management; and the careers available in the agricultural/natural resources industry. They may also include topics such as chemical and soil science; forestry; agricultural marketing; and veterinary science. Students are required to conduct a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) program and maintain an accurate FFA Financial Management (record keeping) system. *Students who complete the Applied Biological Science I & II classes will receive 1 year of Lab Science Credit (Biology) for High School graduation.
