Description:This course is an introduction to Engineering principles. Units include the following topics: Dynamics; Statics; Heat; Energy; Resources. Every unit requires a lab/building project. Specific labs include: Bridge design; crane construction and computer design. Each lab requires a formal lab report which follows the scientific method and includes mathematical analysis.Syllabus: Assignments and classwork; along with the day’s lesson; will be placed in the Managebac Calendar. You are expected to keep up with the calendar; as it contains assignments; important information; resources; and instructions. Materials Needed For Class: calculator; ruler; folder; loose leaf notebook paper; pens and pencils. I have some of these supplies in our classroom; but these will all be necessary in order to complete homework assignments outside of class. Topics covered include:Dynamics; Statics; Heat; Energy; Resources; Design-Build-Test-Redesign-Rebuild-ReTest

Absence policy: Per the Handbook; it is the policy of The Odyssey Preparatory Academy that scholars who are excused from school due to illness or other approved reason will have the same amount of days to make up missed work as days absent. EXPERIMENTS: Scholars prepare a plan before executing an experiment or building project. Every member of a group must individually record their own data into their premade data table during said activity. Work Submission: You are expected to keep up with the class calendar; as it contains assignments; important information; resources; and instructions. Under normal circumstances; all assignments are expected to be ready for submission by the start of class on the due date. By signing Odyssey’s Academic Honesty Policy; you are verifying that you have read and understand the expectations and consequences when it comes to plagiarism and collusion. If there is objective evidence that academic honesty has been compromised; all persons involved in the incident will receive a zero on that item; and a referral; on the first offense.
