Course description

This laboratory course is designed to introduce students to the Earth's interconnected systems and how they change due to natural processes. Matter and energy are the driving forces of systems interactions both on Earth and the Universe. Topics covered will include the Big Bang Theory; galaxies; stars; solar system interactions; geologic history of Earth; and Earth materials and systems (internal and external). COURSE OUTCOMES:1. Students will design; conduct; analyze; and communicate the findings of scientific investigations related to Earth and Space.2. Students will apply knowledge of the principles of geology and astronomy to analyze problems and make decisions which impact themselves; society; and the environment. 3. Students will utilize technology and inquiry to increase understanding of concepts and issues in geology and astronomy. COURSE OUTLINE:
