Course description

Formally called Marine Ecology. This is just a name change.

An in-depth study of marine organisms and the marine environment. Physical; geological; chemical and biological oceanography are studied. This includes: the ocean floor; ocean circulation; climate; relationships between seawater chemistry and the distribution and abundance of sea life; and the diversity of sea life (bacteria to mammals). An ecological approach is used to explore communities of marine organisms as well as their interactions with the environment. Consideration is given to the role of humans play in the marine system. Course work include labs; and individual and group projects.
