Course description

Over the course of the school year; students in this class will publish and produce the Girls Leadership Academy Yearbook ; a monthly GLAAZ Newsletter and video announcements. This is a multi-faceted class where students work as a team to create finished products on a genuine deadline in this real-world and artistic business. Instruction in the class focuses on building business; marketing; Audio and VideoProduction and programming skills. Students will have the opportunity to learn: Staff structure/chain of command; meeting deadlines; communication; problem solving; budgeting; business etiquette; and use of production equipment; initiative; creating advertising campaigns; public relations; copy writing and editing; photography; and graphic layout design and Application Software. Students will partner with Spot 127; the multi-media facility; where they receive training in photography; PhotoShop editing and other graphic design software.
