Course description

This course is designed to introduce students to biotechnology as it relates to innovation within the rapidly advancing biotech industry.  Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of biotechnology and its impact on healthcare; forensics; genetic engineering; environment; food science; biofuel and energy.  Students will gain an understanding of current and future uses of biotechnology as well as obtain hands-on laboratory skills and exposure to highly demanded workplace skills.  Profession-based projects will utilize industry standard laboratory and field equipment with mentoring from community partners.
