Course description

Oceanography is a one-year science elective that comprehensively studies the Ocean. Topics emphasized include waves; tides; ocean currents; marine meteorology; plate tectonics; coastal bathymetry; beach geology; evolution and marine biology. The curriculum is delivered using a variety of methods and is enriched with various field trips.

Oceanography is a course in which ?science? becomes truly integrated. Semester one focuses on the physical; geological and global aspects of the ocean. Semester two covers topics such as marine biology; evolution; ecology and environmental science. By the end of the year; students will have a much deeper understanding of the ocean and will hopefully be inspired to learn more!
