Course description

This course is designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of the concepts; processes and institutions of the Criminal Justice system. The student will develop an understanding and appreciation of how laws work to meet human problems; and how the components and procedures are followed in the administration of law enforcement; adjudication; and post-conviction processes and strategies in American society. This course will include such topics as the juvenile justice system; the roles of courts; attorneys; judges; agencies; law enforcement; and corrections; as well as the background and careers of the criminal justice system.†
