This course will provide the foundation for advanced exploration in the areas of flying and unmanned aircraft systems. Students will investigate the history and growth of the aerospace industry to include the variety of careers within Aviation. Students will learn and recognize the fundamentals of fl ight. Students will be introduced to and investigate the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and other requirements. Students will examine airframe and powerplant systems. Students will be introduced to basic Drone operations and flying and will be afforded the opportunity to operate RC aircraft. The fi rst year course will inspire students to consider aviation and aerospace careers while laying the foundation for continued study in grades 11 and 12 and beyond.
