Course description

MAT230 Basic Geometry Credit: 1.0 Enrollment in this course is determined by the needs addressed in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). This course introduces the student to the deductive method of proof with the use of points, lines, and planes. Solid geometry is integrated with plane geometry to lead the student to consideration of two-and three- dimensional figures and to develop the ability to visualize space relationships. For alignment purposes we are providing the course description for on-level Geometry below: MAT200 Geometry Credit: 1.0 This course is for students who have demonstrated proficiency in Algebra 1 and will address topics identified in the Arizona Mathematics Standards. Students will explore congruence, similarity, right triangles, trigonometry, circles, geometric properties with equations, measurement and dimension, and modeling. A student proficient in this course will have the skills to be successful in Algebra 2 STEM or Algebra 2.
