In addition, the course examines the structure and mechanisms of DNA, as well as the role of biotechnology in today’s society. Students also explore the theory of evolution, including early ideas, how populations evolve, and the history of life on Earth. Students discuss the concept of ecology, where they learn about different principles of ecology, interactions that occur within ecosystems, the biosphere, and how humans have impacted ecosystems thus far. Upon completion of this textbook-free course, students will be required to take the Keystone Biology exam.
