A laboratory course which teaches students the industrial use of biological systems and processes. Techniques currently used by biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies will be introduced--such as gene cloning and amplification; transformation; DNA fingerprinting; gene splicing; gene therapy; bioassays; and chromatography.
