Pre-Calculus

Course description

The Brief Calculus course would begin by reviewing important concepts from Pre-Calc (excluding Trig). The emphasis of the course would be on Limits; Derivatives and their applications; and finally an introduction to Integration. The students need to be able to calculate limits and understand how limit values can help us calculate values that algebra alone can not. They'll build the foundation of what the derivative represents and how it relates to the integral. The course will finish with understanding and applying the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. The students will be able to recognize all the concepts covered in previous math classes come together. They'll recognize the power that all of their algebraic and arithmetic experience has given them in the world of mathematics in motion. The topics included will be; Pre-Calc review; limits; derivatives; applications of the derivative; and integration.
