Course Overview
Business Math is a two-semester course designed to be rigorous and relevant to the real world; reflecting the knowledge and skills that students need for future success.† Students gain an awareness of the mathematics and proficiencies expected through conceptual categories such as number and quantity; modeling; Algebra I; Geometry; Algebra II; functions; statistics; and probability.† By combining algebraic and graphical approaches with practical business and personal finance applications; the course strives to motivate high school students to explore algebraic thinking patterns and functions in a financial context and to be actively involved in applying mathematical ideas to their everyday lives.
