This course is for junior and senior students taking a dual enrollment ELA course that covers 100-level college composition course requirements. This course will focus on college-level composition and reading skills beyond the typical high school curriculum. This is a writing-intensive course in writing academic prose, including various types of essays, arguments, and constructions. The College Composition course focuses on the development and revision of different forms of writing--analytical, argumentative, informative, research-based, etc. In this course, students will encounter a variety of nonfiction and fiction texts from a range of disciplines to read, analyze, synthesize, and cite. This course may include some of the same texts and tasks as the on-level English III or IV course, and it will go beyond the scope of those classes into college level readings and writings.
