Contemporary Crafts offers students the opportunity to construct and build challenging projects using various materials and mediums while looking at the origins of these art forms. An emphasis will be placed on problem-solving, construction techniques, and the aesthetic principles of art and design. Students will research how contemporary crafts fi t into historical context as they explore the design and function of everyday objects. Students will explore three-dimensional processes
with various materials using traditional and nontraditional construction techniques in needlework, weaving, felting, jewelry making, etc.
