Throughout the CRC AP Statistics course, students will explore statistical tools that empower them to support arguments, challenge misinformation, and push for changes that matter to their communities. In 1st semester, students will explore how research studies are created, collected, and displayed. Particular attention will be given to the importance of culturally sensitive collection methods and the ways that data displays can be changed to affect interpretation. Students will
explore the variability that results in data samples and patterns that can emerge from randomness. Students will use probability and proportional reasoning to determine the extent to which a sample is representative of the population. In 2nd semester, students will dive into data analysis and statistical argumentation to make predictions and infer properties about the population. Students will reflect on uncertainty levels and sampling errors to justify conclusions drawn.
