Course description

Culinary Arts is designed to give students a basic understanding of kitchen skills. This course will enable students to work with others to maintain a sanitary cooking environment, become informed consumers, learn how to stock a pantry, shop on a budget, prepare healthy recipes, learn basic gourmet cooking techniques and understand basic nutritional values of a variety of foods. Students will provide a hair tie, 1.5 inch binder and sheet protectors. Students will be required to acquire a food handler’s card which will be obtained during class at the beginning of the year. Students may take this course for a maximum of 2 years.
