Environmental BiologyThis is an introductory life science course designed to address the state standards for science. Environmental Biologycombines real world concepts with lab based skills that students will use throughout their high school science experience.Students have the opportunity to study a variety of topics including: living organisms; the photosynthesis process; buildingmolecules; biochemistry; nutrients in food; animal and plant cells; cell theory; genetics; energy transfer; ecology;ecosystems and evolutionary theory. Each student will also learn to conduct lab experiments using a hands-on approach;and participate in an off-site SAE project to increase their knowledge of ecosystems and their effect on the environment inWhatcom County.
