Course description

This course will focus on the integrated literacy skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, and languagethrough the continued practice of comprehending and evaluating appropriately complex texts - both literary andinformational. Through a standards-based curriculum, students develop comprehension and analytical skills andwill use the reading they do in class as a foundation for writing for a variety of audiences and purposes.Students will focus on how different types of text are structured and organized depending on their audience andpurposes, as well as evaluating how different literary techniques are used. Class may be taken only uponteacher approval.
