Course description

This course is a highly structured program designed to allow scholars to build upon their previous academic skills and knowledge to further expand their skills from Foundations in Language and Literature: Methods and Tools. This course focuses on demonstrating verbal and written comprehension of different types of literature. Scholars will expand their critical thinking skills by continuing to develop their reading comprehension skills and continuing to build basic reading skills and vocabulary skills. Scholars will demonstrate their learning through scholar-led-discussions and writing assignments/assessments requiring citations, references, and formatting. Scholars must meet eligibility requirements to take this course.
