History of the United States to 1877 Covers the history of the United States from 1491 up to 1877. Topics include the pre-Columbian era, colonization, the American Revolution, the expansion of the nation, the Civil War, and Reconstruction. Students will analyze primary source documents, engage in historical research and writing, and develop critical thinking skills. By the end of the course, students will have gained a deeper understanding of the political, social, and economic forces that have shaped the United States.
