HONORS BIOSCIENCE II BT109WA/BT110WB MEETS CTE OR SCIENCE/LAB ELECTIVE REQUIREMENT In this course, students will develop and perform a research experiment. Students will develop higher levels of laboratory research techniques currently used in the field of biotechnology. Students will develop higher levels of laboratory skills, critical thinking, and communication skills used in the industry. Areas of study include DNA, CRISPR, protein structure, virology and epidemiology, biomanufacturing, function & analysis, bioethics, and careers in bioscience. This course fulfills college entrance and district graduation requirements. This course offers certification as a Lab Technician through the BACExam (Bio-Technician Assistant Credential Exam). Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA). Dual Enrollment opportunity through SCC available.
