Course description

This course explores a detailed study into a wide range of literature and encourages students to appreciate the artistry of literature and to develop an ability to reflect critically on their reading. Skills focus upon close reading techniques; language effects; written literary and rhetorical analysis; and oral commentary. Works are studied in their literary and cultural contexts; through areas of exploration and key concepts in order to identify global issues. Instruction and assignments prepare students for the Individual Oral. This course is part of the IB Diploma Programme. NOTE: This is a weighted course.
