Course description

Intermediate Algebra addresses topics of Algebra II to prepare students for higher level math courses.†† Over the course of the year; students will participate in a broad range of instructional experiences using a variety of tools and methods.† Students will be exposed to simplifying; graphing; and solving of polynomial; rational; radical; exponential and logarithmic expressions;functions and probability.† Successful completion of this course will prepare students for Trigonometry or Statistics.† The intended audience is college bound students.† All topics will be taught using Common Core Mathematical Practices:

  1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
  2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
  3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
  4. Model with mathematics.
  5. Use appropriate tools strategically.
  6. Attend to precision.
