This is a lab-oriented course with special emphasis on aquatic ecosystems. Students will gain an overall understanding of the biotic and abiotic components found in freshwater and marine environments. Students will explore the physical; chemical; geological; and biological aspects of freshwater and marine systems. Topics span systems from local areas to an in-depth look into global oceans. Additional inquiry into the relationship between the human population and aquatic environments will also be included.
