This course builds on the foundations of the earth, life, and physical sciences and is designed to help students understand oceanography and marine biology. The course includes the history and methodology of marine science, oceanography, marine biology, and the physical and human factors that influence marine ecology.
Students will use the Science and Engineering Practices to construct understanding of the adaptations in marine life organisms, characteristics of the oceans, and the
interactions and relationships within marine ecosystems.
Note: Animals may be dissected in this course. Alternatives to dissection are available.
