Course description

This physical science laboratory course provides a rigorous introduction to the chemistry of carbon-containing compounds and is recommended for students who are proficient in chemistry and want to expand their knowledge. Reaction mechanisms and recent methods of synthesis are emphasized; including laboratory experience in support of the course. This course is equivalent to the first year of a college organic chemistry course. Students who complete this course should be prepared for the first semester of college Organic Chemistry.†
