Course description

An accelerated; proficiency-based language acquisition course designed to prepare students for the IB diploma program through the†inclusion of the IB learner profile; theory of knowledge (TOK) standards and community service (CAS). Students will expand their†receptive; productive and interactive Spanish language skills to an intermediate-low level as they explore five prescribed IB themes†and related topics; through the study of simple authentic and adapted Spanish literature; geography; history and art. The critical†thinking process; social criticism; literary analysis and comparative cultural analysis will be emphasized. Students will participate in a†community service project and explore IB CAS concepts through written analysis in Spanish.
