Course description

This Public Speaking course is an introduction to speech communication emphasizing speech organization and delivery. Practical public speaking techniques will enable students to lessen anxiety and build confidence. This course will help prepare students for success in public speaking situations and will provide them with the basic principles of organization and research needed for effective speeches. Students will train through a partnership with Spot 127; NPR’s KJZZ Outreach Program; using multimedia technology such as digital photography; audio production for Podcasts; and video production for reaction videos storytelling.
