Course description

This is an intensive astronomy course that applies a hands-on approach to learning. A variety of instructional tools are used including the planetarium, field guides, Starry Night software, online resources, models, and astronomy instruments to examine course topics and complete labs. The rigor of this course will prepare students for advanced science classes. The curriculum mirrors a University astronomy course and combined with physics, will prepare students for an introductory level astronomy course in college. *Requesting to have this course re- evaluated at the suggestion of my ASU admission representative. Honors Astronomy is not your typical classified Lab Science however within this advanced honors course there were labs completed as lab simulations through the Starry Night Program. Labs were typically done weekly in the course.  This one course prevented me from reaching a higher scholarship amount which is needed for my out of state attendance to ASU.  Thank you, Gavin
