Theater and Dance Analysis is a course for students who love or want to learn more about theater and dance; but do not want to be a performer. This course introduces students to the vocabulary and techniques necessary for serious viewing; critiquing; and writing on dance and theater. This course requires that students learn the history of theater and dance and actively engage as an educated audience with each genre. Through this active viewing; students will examine and analyze multiple styles of dance performance and theatrical plays/musicals that stretch across multiple genres; historical periods; and social inquiries. Students will also think; discuss; and write critically about each performance and attend live performances during the year.†
