This course is an enrichment course that has based a supplemental curriculum to accompany the ENG 80/81 course. Curriculum used is RTI Tier 3 Research Based; Mega Words; which is used for multi-syllable decoding; Wordly Wise 3000; used to build vocabulary and expose an excelling lexicon; and Thinking Maps for comprehension. This course is designed to help students become skilled readers. By their writing and reading in this course; students should become aware of the interactions among a writer?s purposes; audience expectations; and subjects; as well as the way generic conventions and the resources of language contribute to the effective writing.
