Course description

The Financial Algebra course combines Algebra I and II; Pre-calculus; Geometry and Probability and Statistics as they are concepts needed to explore banking; credit; insurance; budgeting; taxes; investments and retirement.

Financial Algebra offers an applications and project based learning approach -- incorporating Algebra I; Algebra II; and Geometry topics in ways that involve applying mathematical ideas to consumer topics. By combining algebraic and graphical approaches with practical business and personal finance applications; this upper level course requires high school students to explore algebraic thinking patterns and functions in a financial context.
