This course is designed to teach mathematics in order to solve problems in corporate and personal finance. Topics include budgeting; pricing; payroll; interest; financing; taxes; securities analysis; and financial statements. The curriculum also focuses on building skills in buying; managing personal finances; trading securities including financial derivatives; risk management; and owning and operating a business. Students will refine and enrich their mathematical and financial vocabularies; use the internet and computer applications to solve problems; and gain a global perspective on business during this course. Through cooperative group work and individual effort; by simulation and real-life activity; students will become more creative and skillful problem solvers.
