Course description

This course surveys a fine arts curriculum at an introductory college level. It introduces the fundamentals of art composition; art history; and the various techniques adapted to painting; sketching; photography; sculpture; mixed media and architecture. The curriculum also includes the basics of music theory and fundamentals. This in-depth humanities education provides students with the necessary vocabulary for a fine arts historical analysis and encourages the students to understand the significance of a work of art within their original historical; economic; and scientific contexts. This course also prepares students for Academic Decathlon competition.
