Course description

As a pre-advanced placement (pre-ap) course; this is a (rigorous); accelerated language course designed for the college bound student. Students will: Study literature intended to foster creative and critical thinking abilities applicable to writing and inquiry based learning. Be given continuous direction in grammar and usage is provided with an emphasis on vocabulary development. Read a variety of literature including short stories; drama; poetry; and non fiction. Perform independent and group projects and extended writing activities .Be expected to maintain organized notebooks; participate actively in class discussions; and provide consistent evidence of thought in their work.
